The studio gear to start a web show can be intimidating. At least that is what most people think.

COOLTOYS host Scott Bourquin gives you a quick look behind the scenes at COOLTOYS. See how we started and what our studios look like now. For Season one we had a recording studio built with the help of Acoustiblok. The studio isn’t full of Cool Toys, that is what the warehouse is for. Or if you only have a few cool toys, the storage unit. Just make sure you hide everything way behind the Christmas decorations.

CoolToys started out with a very small list of studio gear. Just one camera, a microphone plugged into an iPhone and a mac. Today we have two cameras, rent several others as needed and as the show grows so does the studio gear. Nothing in here is expensive and some of the acoustic panels might be a good thing for you if you want to record in your home or office.

Some of the acoustic panels are hidden in Photography by Custom PhotoCraft which makes the studio look a lot nicer than just using wedge or egg crate foam to help reduce the echo.
